Please repeal the 4% sales tax on renewable fuels such as firewood and

wood pellets for residential heating. Most counties and municipalities do not tax

home heating fuel. Ithaca and Tompkins County seem to have overlooked this

very practical step in efforts to promote local and renewable fuels. I estimate

the yearly sales tax revenue from wood and pellets to be less than $40,000, a

very small concession to local and renewable energy users. Green rhetoric,
